The Right Talent, Right Now Symposium – October 13, 2022
The theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) 2022, “Disability: Part of the Equity Equation” recognizes the vital role people with disabilities play in making the nation’s workforce diverse and inclusive. Individuals with disabilities are a significant source of untapped talent who bring qualifications and skills to the workplace. For the seventh year, the employment rate for individuals with disabilities remains at a national high. While the pandemic has presented opportunities for us to be creative with or workforce, we need to remain focused on advancing equitable and inclusive practices and opportunities across industries in order to remain viable. As we work to improve employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities, we recognize that there are intersecting identities who also face barriers for obtaining and retaining employment opportunities.
Learning outcomes;
- Learn how businesses can develop intentional, impactful, strategies, policies and practices for recruitment, worker retention, and advancement opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other diverse populations
- Learn about creating an inclusive culture in the workplace that supports the needs of multi-generational, gender identity, culture, and social economical backgrounds
- Understand disability diversity as an important way to tap into a growing market by developing strategies for creating an inclusive work culture across industries
- Learn about workplace support and community partnerships that address issues such as transportation, childcare and mental health wellness
